Replacement of Cherry Valley Avenue Bridge




Project Scope
WJFE provided a design for temporary shoring towers and erection procedure to assemble the new truss bridge adjacent to the existing bridge. The operation required multiple crane locations to complete the assembly. A structural lifting plan was also provided to raise the existing bridge 36” to facilitate the bridge removal using self-propelled modular transporters (SPMTs) which were designed by others.

Grand Central Terminal Train Shed Rehabilitation


Project Scope
WJFE was contacted to design temporary columns that would support active railroad tracks and facilitate the repair of an existing column. The design considered the tracks on-grade including avoiding placing any load on the railroad ties and column placement to avoid fouling all active tracks.

George Washington Bridge Facility Wide Priority Steel and Concrete Rehabilitation


Project Scope
El Sol requested that WJFE provide a design temporary supports for floorbeams and girders that frame into an existing column to be repaired and in the interim unable to carry load. Hydraulic jacks and jacking boxes were installed to remove the load from the existing column to the temporary columns, which included loads on both the upper and lower levels of the bridge.
